We’re so excited that your girl has decided to join us for their best summer ever! The step-by-step instructions below will walk you through everything you need to do to register her for camp.
Have questions not covered by the information below? Email us at info@gsiowa.org!
1. Choose your adventure! Find the camp sessions that she may be interested in by browsing The Hub. Already know what camp she wants to attend? High five! Skip to step 2.
Psst...Don't forget that the grade levels listed for each camp session online are based on the grade she’ll enter in Fall 2024.
2. Is she currently registered as a Girl Scout member? If so, skip to step 3! Any girl attending camp must be a registered Girl Scout member, but don’t worry – registering is easy!
3. Register for camp! Secure your Girl Scout’s spot with a $35 deposit for an overnight session or a $10 deposit for day camp. Some sessions fill up quickly so secure your spot now with a deposit!
Credit card payments and Cookie Dough/Munch Money/Juliette Program Credits are accepted for online camp payment. Please review our summer camp refund policies in full at girlscoutsiowa.org/refunds for complete information.
4. Need help paying for camp? We can help! To apply, first register for camp and pay your deposit. Then, fill out and submit a Camp Financial Assistance Request beginning April 1 to request aid to pay your remaining balance. Please allow up to two weeks for these requests to be processed.
5. Fill out some forms! Be on the lookout for an email from CampDoc (our online form system) prior to the start of your Girl Scout’s camp session. These digital forms include the Health History Form, Release Form, and All About Your Camper. If your Girl Scout has a buddy they would like to room with, be sure to indicate that preference on the form. More information about CampDoc is available in the Camp Guide. If your Girl Scout attended Camp Sacajawea or Camp Tanglefoot last year, you’ll simply have to update their information for this summer.
6. Review our Camp Guides (formerly known as Parent Packets)! Our Camp Guides include all the information you will need to know for camp including drop-off/pick-up times, how to communicate with your Girl Scout while she is at camp, packing lists, camp policies, and much more!
7. Pay your balance. For overnight camp sessions, please be sure your camp balance is paid in full at least 14 days before your camper arrives at camp. All day camp balances are due by May 24, 2024. If you anticipate difficulty in being able to pay the balance, please contact us at 800-342-8389 or info@gsiowa.org as soon as possible.
You're all set! Now all that's left to do is count down the days 'til your adventure begins. We'll see you soon!
Have a last minute question? We're here to help!
The Trading Post is open on check-in and check-out days, as well as one day during the week for campers to shop. She can shop for items like t-shirts and other camp apparel, water bottles, stuffed animals, and other fun camp necessities. Once camp is over, she can donate any remaining balance to help support GSGI camps, or save the credits for next summer!
To ensure that your camper has access to their credits at the start of their camp session, we recommend purchasing credits at least one week prior to her first camp session start date.
Trading Post Credits are nonrefundable and are not transferrable, and can only be used at the Trading Post locations at Camp Sacajawea and Camp Tanglefoot.
