Membership Dues toggle arrow

Girl Scout membership dues are non-refundable and non-transferrable to another person.

If you need to transfer a membership to or from another Girl Scout council, please email info@gsiowa.org.

Retail Shop toggle arrow

Returns are accepted in-store at the retail shop within 30 days of the original purchase, provided items are in resalable condition.

Additional guidelines:

  • Defective merchandise may be exchanged for the same item. In the event that item is no longer available, you may choose another item or receive store credit.
  • Items purchased online cannot be returned to a shop. Instructions for online returns are provided separately for online orders.
  • Fun patch orders, heat press orders, and other special/custom orders cannot be returned.
  • After 30 days, items may only be exchanged (not returned for refund or store credit), provided the returned item is still a current item being sold. Exchanges may be based on the current price of the item.

Returned purchases will be credited in the manner they were paid. (Ex. A debit card purchase will be credited back to your debit card.)

Exceptions:

  • Cash or check purchases will be refunded in cash for refunds of $30 or less. Refunds greater than $30 will be issued by check or as store credit.
  • Purchases made with Program Credits (Cookie Dough, Munch Money, or Juliette Credits), financial assistance, or store credit will not be refunded. Items may be exchanged in-store, within 90 days of the original purchase.

Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa Retail Hold Policy

Unpaid retail items will be held in the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa shops for up to 10 business days. If items are not picked up by the customer after 10 business days and arrangements have not been made with a Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa staff member, items will be returned to shop inventory.

Paid retail items* will be held in the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa shops for up to 20 business days. If items are not picked up by the customer after 20 business days and arrangements have not been made with a Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa staff member, items will be returned to shop inventory and customer forfeits payment in full.

Items held for pick up under Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa’s Product Program and Community Troops will be subject to this policy.

*Paid retail items may include, but are not limited to, items ordered and paid
for via phone call or in-person if an out of stock item was ordered.

Lost and found
Items lost and found at GSGI events or offices will be held for 30 days, then donated.

Questions about this policy can be directed to info@gsiowa.org.

Camp Refund Policy toggle arrow

A full camp refund (minus the non-refundable deposit) is issued if the cancellation request is received at least 4 weeks prior to the camp session start date. All cancellation requests must be sent via email to info@gsiowa.org and should include camper’s name, camp location, camp session name, and session start date.

Additional Guidelines:

  • Registrations paid using Program Credits of any kind (including Cookie Dough, Munch Money, or Juliette Program Credits) are non-refundable, but may be transferred (one-time) to another event. In order to do so, the registration must be cancelled/transferred at least 4 weeks prior to
    the original event start date.
  • Registration fees already paid will not be refunded in order to use another payment method.
  • Refunds are given in the manner in which they were paid.
  • In the event that an individual’s Camp Financial Assistance application does not qualify for assistance, thus preventing the registrant from attending, the camp deposit will be refunded.
  • No refunds (in full or part) will be issued for campers who arrive late or leave early from a camp session.
  • No refunds will be issued if specific activities are missed during a camp session due to weather.
  • No refunds will be issued to “no-show” campers. Additionally, "no-show" campers are responsible for any balance still owed for their camp session.
  • No refunds will be issued if a camper is sent home for violating the Camper Code of Conduct.
Trip Registration toggle arrow

All GSGI trips will include a detailed payment schedule, including refund information. Once transportation and accommodations have been secured for a trip, the amount of a refund will vary based on how close the trip is, and what vendor fees GSGI has already paid.

  • Each trip will list a cut-off date, after which partial refunds will only be issued in cases of family emergencies or illness (doctor’s note required).
  • Fees paid by Program Credits of any kind (including Cookie Dough, Munch Money, or Juliette Program Credits) are non-refundable.
  • Refunds are given in the manner in which they were paid, excluding program credits.
  • Deposit fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • If troop funds were allocated to several different girls in a troop for a trip, and then one participant cancels, those monies may be redistributed to other girls from the same troop who are going on the trip.
  • No refunds will be given for a participant arriving late or leaving early.
  • No refunds will be issued if specific activities on the itinerary are missed due to weather or reasons outside of Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa's control.
  • If GSGI reschedules or cancels a trip, refunds will be provided. Any exclusions to this policy will be clearly stated at the time of registration.

To request a refund:

  • Send a written request to: info@gsiowa.org.
  • Please be sure to state the following: name of the participant(s) whose registration(s) should be canceled; name and start date of the trip; and reason for the cancellation.

  • No refunds will be issued for no-shows or groups arriving late or leaving early.
