WE'RE SO EXCITED YOU'RE HERE!
Whether your Girl Scout is joining a troop or registering as a Juliette (an individual member with a customizable experience), there are some things that parents/guardians and Girl Scouts can do right now to get started.
STAY IN THE KNOW
- Check your inbox. Our primary method of communication is email. Keep an eye on your inbox for important updates and news. We recommend adding info@gsiowa.org to your "safe senders" list so emails don't get lost in junk/spam folders.
- How to contact us: We're so excited to support you on your Girl Scout journey, please reach out if you need anything.
- Email: info@gsiowa.org
- Phone: 800-342-8389
- Subscribe to our newsletter. Sign up for our monthly Program Express email newsletter to receive new program ideas and events right in your inbox!
- Follow us on social media. Facebook, Instagram
- Meet other adults... virtually! Join our Official Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa Leaders Group for inside information and to share tips with other volunteers and parents/guardians. This is a private group only GSGI members and parents/guardians of members can join (including parents/guardians of Juliettes).
- Get your Girl Scout gear. Visit our shop to load up on Girl Scout gear. You can visit us in person or order a uniform bundle online!
FIND THINGS TO DO!
- Our Girl Scout events calendar, called The Hub, is the best place to find and sign up for upcoming GSGI events, field trip ideas (you schedule with our program partners), camp sessions, community service opportunities, and more. Bookmark this page!
- Check out Girl Scouts at Home for our FREE at-home activities and experiences for your Girl Scout. We have custom patch programs that can be done individually or as a troop!
WHAT'S NEXT FOR TROOPS:
- Receive your Girl Scout's troop assignment. If you're looking for a troop in your area, our team is working on options and will be in touch. It may take a little time for your troop leader to connect with you. (In some cases, we still need troop leaders... and parents make great ones!) You can learn more about being a Girl Scout volunteer here.
- Your troop co-leader will connect with you. They'll provide details about the meeting time and location. If your troop co-leader is new to volunteering with us, it may take a little more time for them to connect with you after receiving your troop assignment.
WHAT'S NEXT FOR JULIETTES:
- Help your Girl Scout choose their path. Juliettes can do all the same activities and experiences that traditional troops do. Help your Girl Scout decide what badges and awards they'd like to earn. Check out the Girl Scout Badge Explorer for a full list of badges and awards.
- Register as a Girl Scout Volunteer! Stay ahead of the game and get registered so you can support your Girl Scout with any money earning projects or Girl Scout product program sales.
- Explore Volunteer Essentials, a section of our website designed to support volunteers and parents/guardians with easy to access information.
P.S. Are you a volunteer ready to get started? Visit our new leader checklist to get a head start! Your Volunteer Experience Manager will be reaching out to you soon.
