Come explore the science behind cosmetics. Find out where materials come from, how they are developed, and the effect on your community and the world. We will discuss being a responsible consumer; then we’ll relax as we create an all natural spa day experience with everyday items such as an egg white facial mask! You will earn and receive the Got Cosmetology Badge. A snack will be provided. |

More than just a dance, we will learn how this art is important to Tahitian culture and understand the story told by its movements. We will even make our own leis! Create your own car out of pinewood and bring it to the event to race against other girls your age. Awards will be given out at the end of the race. Girls must create their own car, and can only use cars they have created during the 2009-2010 school year. Further instructions and rules are available with your car kit. Contact your local Leadership Center to secure your car today. *Price is reduced by $5 if a car is not needed. |
| 03-07-2010 - SA - Cooking for College (Carlisle) Carlisle: Girls, are you ready to learn some helpful cooking tips for college? It doesn’t have to be all ramen noodles and popcorn! Join us and learn ways to shop for affordable meals and cook while you’re away at college. Learn your way around the kitchen, plus receive helpful tips on preparing quick, healthy, delicious meals in a limited space, by both microwave and traditional stove. You will even make your own recipe book to take home with you! You will work towards completing part of the Creative Cooking Interest Project Patch, and take home a list of the remaining requirements that you can easily finish on your own. |

What are we doing to maintain our usable supply? Explore answers to these questions and many more as we look at, test, and discover what is in our water supply. We will learn what we can do to have safe water for swimming, drinking and more. Each participant will need to brink a sack lunch and drink. |

We will create fabulous jewelry and amazing art masterpieces all from recycled everyday materials! We will also discuss great ways to assist with, or start, recycling programs in your community. Of course, we will top off the day with birthday cake and ice cream to celebrate 98 years of Girl Scouting!! Girls at this event will split up into age groups to do their own fun activities. |

Are you interested in entering the Powder Puff Derby but not sure where to get started or how to design your car? We will also learn about how much fun good sportsmanship is and the joy of being a Powder Puff Derby participant. You will earn and receive the Go Go Derby Try-it or Badge at this event. Come and discover some of the ways electricity affects the human body through fun hands-on activities. You’ll connect with area experts while learning the importance of neurons, experimenting with static electricity, and discussing how your muscles (heart included) use electricity to keep you moving. You will earn and receive the I’m Electric! Junior Badge. A snack will be provided. |

It doesn’t have to be all ramen noodles and popcorn! Join us and learn ways to shop for affordable meals and cook while you’re away at college. Learn your way around the kitchen, plus receive helpful tips on preparing quick, healthy, delicious meals in a limited space, by both microwave and traditional stove. You will even make your own recipe book to take home with you! You will work towards completing part of the CreativeCooking Interest Project Patch, and take home a list of the remaining requirements that you can easily finish on your own. |
