Vice President - Marketing

JOB STATUS: Exempt (12 months)

JOB LOCATION: Des Moines

PURPOSE OF JOB: Markets Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa and the Girl Scout Leadership Experience available through multiple pathways; promoting brand, and image of our organization by way of local and regional media.  Will write and design council publications and printed materials, prepare official media statements and press releases as assigned. Ensure that materials prepared and produced for the Council's internal and external audiences reflect the highest standards of excellence. Maintains and develops data base of media outlets and contacts; distributes PSA’s to those contacts as directed.   Must have excellent decision making, organizational and oral communication skills. Able to establish and carry out specific courses of action for self and/or groups by organizing and prioritizing tasks.  Belief in the mission of the Girl Scout movement and willingness to become a member of GSUSA.  BA degree in a related academic discipline or equivalent experience preferred.  Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and data base management. 

 

Camp Nurse (Health Supervisor)

JOB STATUS: Exempt (12 months)

JOB LOCATION: Assigned Region (Boone, Clear Lake, Westfield)

PURPOSE OF JOB: The camp nurse oversees all aspects for the health of campers and staff in all areas of camp, implementing standing orders, ACA Standards, State and County Ordinances.  Conducts camper and staff health checks within 24 hours of arrival. Collect, review, file physical exam and health history forms, and brief unit staff of individual needs of campers in units.  Report all serious cases of illness, injury or incidences to Outdoor Pathways Director.   Give necessary first aid and nursing care according to standing orders in the event of an illness or accident. Record all visits to the infirmary for both campers and staff, notifies camp director when parents should be called.  File all insurance forms and maintain accident reports. Participate in camp-wide activities including, but not limited to, campfire programs, flag ceremonies, workshops and evening programs.   

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required. Prefer RN, but will consider other levels of qualifications.  Excellent planning, organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, and written and oral communication skills and time management.  Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, data base management and office machines. Possess a dedication to excellent customer service and communication skills

 

Administrative Specialist

JOB STATUS: Exempt (12 months)

JOB LOCATION: Council Bluffs, IA

PURPOSE OF JOB: The Administrative Specialist supports the council as the front line contact with both internal and external customers providing data base, word processing, spreadsheet and general clerical tasks in the specialist's assigned area. Provide primary clerical support. Assist other Administrative Specialists, and retail shop when requested. Belief in the mission of the Girl Scout movement and willingness to become a member of Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa/Girl Scouts of the USA. Actively support all efforts to increase cooperation, communication, and collaboration between and among staff members, volunteers, and girls.
 

Administrative Team Coordinator

JOB STATUS: Exempt (12 months)

JOB LOCATION: Des Moines, IA

PURPOSE OF JOB: The Administrative Team Coordinator coordinates the work of the administrative team to efficiently meet the support needs of the council.  Bachelors’ degree in related field (i.e. finance, accounting, and business) required.  Must have 3-5+ years of employee supervision experience. Must have data base, spreadsheet and word processing skills, and the ability to oversee data base systems as well as develop and implement standard operating procedures for all administrative team functions. Experience in coaching and developing staff.  Ability to work in a team environment. Excellent planning, organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and written and oral communication skills. Belief in the mission of the Girl Scout movement and willingness to become a member of Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa/Girl Scouts of the USA.

 

Administrative Specialist

JOB STATUS: Exempt (12 months)

JOB LOCATION: Des Moines, IA

PURPOSE OF JOB: The Administrative Specialist supports the council as the front line contact with both internal and external customers providing data base, word processing, spreadsheet and general clerical tasks in the specialist's assigned area.  AA in finance, accounting, business or related field.  Must have 3-5+ years of successful related experience.  Ability to work in a team environment.  Excellent planning, ogranizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.  Also must have excellent written and oral communication skills.  Provides excellent customer service.  Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings as needed.   Provide primary clerical support. Assist other Administrative Specialists, and retail shop when requested. Belief in the mission of the Girl Scout movement and willingness to become a member of Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa/Girl Scouts of the USA.
