Volunteer Education
As an adult volunteer member, you receive the benefits that every member receives (publications from both the national office and Girls Scouts of Greater Iowa, and supplemental insurance coverage). But in addition to that, you also have tremendous opportunity for personal development and career advancement. Girl Scouts is passionate about ensuring that your experience is a good one by offering a comprehensive system of learning and development that translates into new skills---and perhaps new opportunities in your workplace. You also have access to a network of nearly a million (that’ right --- a million!) other Girl Scout volunteers who care just as passionately about making a difference in girls’ lives, and who are usually happy to assist fellow volunteers in their career and personal pursuits.
You may complete your Leadership Essentials-Troop Pathways in a face to face session with other volunteers or as an online interactive piece where you can email your responses back. If you are using the online option, please be sure to fill-out the evaluation so that we may be sure the training has been completed. Education and learning are necessary steps to help you during your volunteer experience, it is a great way to meet others, gather new ideas and learn more about the Girl Scout experience and what we have to offer. There are many opportunities throughout the year for adults to be educated or to brush up on their skills. Please see our Adult Education Courses and Dates for specific information.
