Camp Lakota, near Dayton, Iowa is located on 175 acres of beautiful woodlands. A Girl Scout camp since 1960, Camp Lakota contains it's own stables and outdoor riding arena, swimming pool, challenge course, archery range and numerous trails through the woods. Camp facilities include a historical barn as it's Dining Hall and the historic Dayton jail as it's Trading Post. The camp has a Nature Center designed for environmental education. Three sleeping units are used by campers during their stay; one the Tower Unit is built over a wooded ravine and the other two are platform tent units. All units have restroom facilities with flushable toilets. Girls may participate in various activities during their stay including horseback riding, challenge course, archery, swimming, hiking, arts and crafts, campfire cooking, singing and nature education.
